Distributed Inventory
As part of SencorpWhite’s commitment to innovation, the company is introducing the Distributed Inventory model.
Distributed Inventory allows critical items such as medical devices or instruments, pharmaceuticals, or other high-value to be securely stored, managed, and distributed at the point of use. Inventory is monitored at the point of use and remotely managed via web browser through Genesis cloud software on all enabled White carousels accessed and monitored via GPRS, WiFi, or Ethernet connections
Unlike the traditional supply chain where inventory is stored in a central or satellite stock room and tracked by internal inventory control systems, Distributed Inventory allows end users to optimize supply chain performance by pushing the responsibility for owning and maintaining the inventory at the point of use to the supplier. Our Distributed Inventory approach enables companies to manage and distribute high-value, mission-critical items at the point of use or in previously inaccessible, remote locations. In a traditional supply chain approach inventory is purchased as an operational cost and must be tracked and managed internally. Distributed Inventory allows end users to optimize supply chain performance by enabling vendors to remotely manage consigned inventory at the point of use. This is achieved by allowing the supplier to seamlessly maintain their inventory, remotely automating the management of re-orders, re-supplies, multi-location inventory balancing, and product expiration. In general, material is “owned” by the vendor until the time of use, and storage and administrative responsibilities and their associated costs are off-loaded from the end user.
Ideally suited for healthcare facilities, pharmacies, clean rooms, remote retail installations, mobile supplies for disaster relief, military installations, and other uses, Distributed Inventory couples our automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) expertise with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) software from Genesis Systems.
